Rip-Off? Coke Social Media Guard

Shortlisted in Dubai Lynx 2014 in several categories, I really hope the judges see this before making a decision.

UPDATE: Obviously the judges didn't see this or didn't really care. This campaign won a whopping 9 awards helping Memac Ogilvy win agency and network of the year.

Coke published their video in Feb 2014.




These guys published and started a Facebook page for PhoneCone in Nov 2013.




And this is what they had to say on their Facebook page once they found out Coke did something very very similar.



Do you think it's a rip-off?
Do you think Coke and Memac Ogilvy deserve to win awards for this?

I'll tell you something though: it's very well executed. When I first saw it I thought it was produced in the states. However, I don't like injustice and I certainly don't like dinosaurs getting credit for other people's ideas.
